5) Do Cookies Collect Protected Health Information (PHI)?
SwiftCharting is designed for healthcare use and may handle PHI in the platform when customers enter clinical data.
In general:
- Cookies used on our public website are intended to collect website usage and device information, not PHI.
- Cookies used in the authenticated platform are used primarily for security, authentication, and platform functionality.
Covered Entity customers (providers/organizations) remain responsible for how PHI is used and disclosed under HIPAA, and SwiftCharting’s handling of PHI is governed by the applicable Business Associate Agreement (BAA) when SwiftCharting is acting as a Business Associate.

You have several options to control cookies:
